Information

Situated in Cedar Street Thomastown, the school was officially opened on 4th March 1966. For the first term, students were originally transported up to Epping Primary School whilst the finishing touches of the school were being undertaken.

Over the years, the school has been committed to maintaining a high standard of facilities and this has been demonstrated by ongoing infrastructure and maintenance work.

In 1994 Thomastown East Primary School had a major overhaul and spent $320,000 on upgrading facilities. In 2006 a further $150,000 was spent on maintenance and upgrading of the toilet blocks and surrounding areas.

In 2011, a major reconstruction of the classrooms was undertaken at a cost of $925,000 to ensure the facilities were state of the art and allowed every possible learning opportunity for all students who attended.

In 2014, a further $250,000 was spent on painting, re carpeting, lighting and decorating Building Two. Whilst the school is small and family orientated, it offers facilities equal to any school in the area and is committed to being a state of the art learning facility for the third millennium.

2018 marked the next chapter of development at Thomastown East Primary School. $2.1 million dollars was spent to replace the Art room, Library and 3 classrooms and two relocatable potables. The new buildings offer elite facilities for all children to access.  Shade sails over the basketball court and new playgrounds are anticipated to be finished in 2023.

In 2024, a shade sail was installed over the basketball court and a new $90,000 playground installed to compliment the grounds beautification program.
